Baby's day out (1st Sep)

We saw our first apple tree today! We were on our way out after meeting the rest of the gang at Lappis student hostel, and there the tree was--the branches overloaded with super cute apples! Diana said that plucking things is an offence in Sweden, so... 眼看手不动!

After that, we went to our university, Kungl Tekniska Hogskolan, for registrations to get everything started. It was a friday, and Diana said that by friday the Swedes has begun to tune into the weekend mode, so we had to get our things done fast!! :D

This is a picture of the award-winning library. This library won the award for best architectural design. It was built in an open space that is supposed to be a courtyard within a very old building. So what they did is to put a roof on top of the courtyard to make it indoors. But it was so nicely done that you would feel as if you are in the courtyard while reading. they even planted medium sized trees in the library!

A nice alley way just outside the library.

After settling all the administrative matters, we went to Sodermalm for a day trip. This nice statue was situated in a park in the island. (oh, btw, Sodermalm is one of the islands in Stockholm).

We then went up a hill to the highest point for a view of Stockholm city center... and here it is! The marvellous old city, beautiful among the waters, salted by the wind, glimmering in the sun.
The view was simply breathtaking... hah...
Haha, a cute rubbish bin at the viewing point.

Having fun at Soldermalm!!

Oh ya, this is a silly enough sign along the walkway at the port.
You can guess what it means just by looking at it!!

Soldermalm is a magical island. Just walking on it you'll feel as if you r floating, that's what i experienced. The sun was low, the breeze was cool and trees are swaying. And at the end of the long long walkway by the port, I saw a loving couple kissing each other... can you imagine how touching that was?

I had a great day out, and I think i'm falling in love... with the city.
